In-Home Pet Care

Our pets are Family. While we would prefer they be able to travel with us that isn’t always possible. Sometimes our travels are for work, quite far, not pet appropriate, or would cause unneeded stress for us and them. When we do have to leave them we miss them and worry about them. They do the same. Boarding or longer-term care out of the home is an option for some pets and some budgets.

There are many types of pets, and pet personalities who are simply better off at home receiving love and care in their family’s absence. That is exactly what Claws-N-Paws offers. Temporary pet parenting/care in the comfort of their own home & routine.

Services Offered

  • You’ll see this mentioned throughout the site because it’s an important, free service for all new clients, pets, and homes. A Meet & Greet is essential for us to get to know one another, assess your pet’s needs, and make sure it’s a good fit for everyone involved – pets, pet parents, and the sitter! It’s the first step in building a strong, trusting relationship.

  • Travel isn’t always ideal for cats, and let’s be honest – most of our feline friends prefer to stay home where they can keep an eye on things (and those sunny spots). While they may seem independent, cats are still social creatures who need care and attention while you’re away, and that’s where I come in.

I cater to all types of cats, from the playful and snuggly to the more shy and reclusive ones. I’ll handle all the essentials like food, water, litter, and meds if needed, and of course, I’ll give your kitty treats, pats, brushing, or space – whatever they’re most comfortable with.

As part of my overnight service, I also keep your home clean and tidy, take care of small tasks like watering plants, retrieving mail, and putting out the trash/recycling. My goal is to ensure your fur babies are comfortable so you can return home with everything in order.

  • This service is ideal for short absences or for cats who prefer their solitude. If you’re working long hours or away for a few days and your cat needs scheduled meals, meds, or a bit of playtime and attention, this 30-minute visit is perfect. I’ll cover the basics like food, water, litter, and a little social time as tolerated.

This service is recommended for absences only, of 5-7 days or less, and the days must be consecutive if you’re away. For safety reasons, I won’t allow gaps of more than 24 hours between visits – daily care or multiple visits per day are necessary to ensure your cat’s well-being.

  • If your cat needs a little more attention or you’d like me to spend more time with them, the 60-minute drop-in is ideal. I’ll handle the usual care – food, water, litter, meds if needed – along with some extra playtime, brushing, or affection as they like it.

Again, this service is best for shorter trips of 5-7 days or less, with consecutive days of care. I won’t leave gaps of more than 24 hours between visits to ensure your cat’s safety and well-being.

  • Being away from their humans can be stressful for dogs, but keeping them in their own home and routine helps ease that stress. While you’re away, I’ll make sure your dog is well cared for – from food, water, and potty breaks/walks to any meds, and of course, plenty of attention, play, and snuggles (or space, depending on their needs).

I also handle basic household tasks during any stay, like keeping things tidy, watering plants, retrieving mail, and managing trash/recycling. If you have other service providers visiting your home, I can coordinate that as well. My aim is to make sure your dog is happy and comfortable, so you can come home to a wagging tail (or nub)!

This rate is for one dog per overnight stay. Additional dogs can be added at a discounted rate, with a maximum of 4 dogs per stay.

  • Puppies are a lot of work – they’re learning, growing, and constantly exploring their world. Whether they’re still with their mother or older dogs in the home, or are the energetic, mischievous type, they need special care and attention.

I will always do a Meet & Greet to ensure I’m fully confident in providing the care your puppy needs. If I’m able to take on the sit, the puppy will be considered the primary pet.

  • Here’s an edited version of your service descriptions with a consistent, factual tone, while still keeping it friendly and reassuring:

    Constant Care Pets
Pets with constant care needs – whether due to age, medical conditions, separation anxiety, or other reasons – require extra attention. I’m happy to do a Meet & Greet to assess your pet’s specific needs and see if I can provide the level of care they deserve. The Meet & Greet will be more detailed for constant care pets, as it’s important to understand exactly what’s needed for their health and safety.

If I’m confident I can meet those needs, I’ll follow up with a custom care plan and invoice. If not, I’ll do my best to recommend someone who can. The pet with constant care needs will be considered the primary pet in the household.

  • I recognize that not all pets come in the typical cute & cuddly form, though I do know they are still very loveable, intelligent, and personable. I have bonded with many over the years, and if you are here reading this, I know you have too.

Rodents: Personally rodents hold a special place in my heart. As pets they give so much love & trust, and it really is a beautiful thing in life to experience this.

Birds: Bird routines tend to be quite detailed, and time spent to bond and earn trust is needed. I am also not ok with drop-ins only if you will be away an extended period of time. Their mental health is important to me. Drop-ins will only be scheduled to fill short gaps that you may be away from your home. (Ex. you will be away the night for a work even and feeding/turn-down is needed etc.) I will not be complicit in the neglect of animals in my care.

Reptiles, Spiders, Fish, Amphibians - Creatures: I have cared for them all and find them incredible fascinating.

Every species and individual animal has specific care needs. I am more than happy to do a meet & greet to learn more and to see if care I can provide, or experience I have would be a good match. If we are a good match, I am more than happy to send along a customized quote for the care needed.
