In-Home Pet Care

Our pets are Family. While we would prefer they be able to travel with us that isn’t always possible. Sometimes our travels are for work, quite far, not pet appropriate, or would cause unneeded stress for us and them. When we do have to leave them we miss them and worry about them. They do the same. Boarding or longer-term care out of the home is an option for some pets and some budgets.

There are many types of pets, and pet personalities who are simply better off at home receiving love and care in their family’s absence. That is exactly what Claws-N-Paws offers. Temporary pet parenting/care in the comfort of their own home & routine.

Services Offered

  • You will find this constantly throughout the site for good reason! This is a free and needed service for any new clients, new pets for current clients, and new homes. This is a time for us all to become aquatinted with one another, assess needs, and make sure it is a good fit for pets, pet parents, and the sitter!

  • Some pets can easily travel at least some of the time to some places. The kitties we love are often excluded from our travels for good reason. They are most often more comfortable at home guarding your kingdom and monitoring the sunny spots & birds outside. Our feline friends, though quite independent, are social creatures like we are. Caring for them, and giving them love & attention while you are away is my specialty.

I love them all from the playful, to the snuggle monsters, and even the skittish/reclusive kitties. While you are away I will ensure they are cared for as you would (food, water, litter, meds if needed) and of course treats, pats, brushing, play, or space as you and they communicate.

Additionally on any house sit, keeping the home clean & tidy, and small chores such as plant watering, mail retrieval, and trash/recycling services are all included. My aim is to make sure your fur-babies are comfortable at home so you can return and jump right back into life.

  • This service is for those who are busy or away for a short while and also have cats who truly prefer solitude. Working long hours and have kitties who need to eat on a schedule, need meds, or need a bit of play and attention while you are not at home. This service is only recommended to be used in place of sitting for times when you are away for 5-7 days or less, or have cats who value alone time, but still need basic care of food, water, litter changes, and some attention as tolerated. The days must be consecutive if you are away. This Service is for 30 Minutes/1st cat. Add additional cats at a reduced rate. Max 6 cats total. You may book multiple drop-ins per day as needed for your cat(s). I will not drop-in creating gaps greater than 24 hours. This is for the physical and social safety of your pet. A lot can happen in 24 hours. Daily or multiple times a day is my comfort level. I know some will do this, and some cats are likely fine with it, there is just too much that can happen during longer gaps.

  • Being separated from their people can be quite stressful for some dogs, being in their own home with their usual routine can go a long way to ease the stress of your absence. While you are away I will ensure they are cared for as you would (food, water, potty breaks/walks, meds if needed) and of course treats, petting, brushing, play, or space as you and they communicate. I provide Love & Care in your absence.

Additionally on any house sit, keeping the home clean & tidy, and small chores such as plant watering, mail retrieval, and trash/recycling services are all included. If you have any other service providers visit your home that can be coordinated with communication as well. My aim is to make sure your fur-babies are comfortable at home so you can return and jump right back into life with a happy wagging tail (or nub) to greet you when you return.

This rate is daily per overnight for a single dog. Extra dogs may be added for a discounted rate. 4 dogs max.

  • If you have one (or more) you know how much work they can be. They are curious, learning, and developing rapidly. Some have other dogs in the home showing them the way, some may still be in the care of their mother... Some can even be puppy age but calm & mature, just as some dogs a few years old still seem to be in a puppy phase. I will always do a meet & greet and consider sitting for these cute bundles of fluffy joy, but please note that I will only agree to sits with puppies that I am 100% confident I can provide a safe & quality care for.

If there is a puppy in the household they will be considered the primary pet.

  • Constant care needs could be due to age, medical needs, injury, illness, severe separation anxiety, lack of training, or any other life circumstance. I will gladly do a meet & greet with you and your animals, though I will only offer to book services if I know I can safely provide the attention & care they need & deserve. This type of sit will have a more detailed meet & greet to more thoroughly assess your needs for your pets, for everyone's health & safety. While I may be able to perform pet first aid, administer some medicines, and even give them all the love & attention I can, not every pet/owner/home/sitter is a good match up. I will either follow-up with a customized service plan & invoice, or do my best to make a referral if I cannot meet you & your pet's needs.

If there is a constant care animal in the household they will be considered the primary pet.

  • I recognize that not all pets come in the typical cute & cuddly form, though I do know they are still very loveable, intelligent, and personable. I have bonded with many over the years, and if you are here reading this, I know you have too.

Rodents: Personally rodents hold a special place in my heart. As pets they give so much love & trust, and it really is a beautiful thing in life to experience this.

Birds: Bird routines tend to be quite detailed, and time spent to bond and earn trust is needed. I am also not ok with drop-ins only if you will be away an extended period of time. Their mental health is important to me. Drop-ins will only be scheduled to fill short gaps that you may be away from your home. (Ex. you will be away the night for a work even and feeding/turn-down is needed etc.) I will not be complicit in the neglect of animals in my care.

Reptiles, Spiders, Fish, Amphibians - Creatures: I have cared for them all and find them incredible fascinating.

Every species and individual animal has specific care needs. I am more than happy to do a meet & greet to learn more and to see if care I can provide, or experience I have would be a good match. If we are a good match, I am more than happy to send along a customized quote for the care needed.
